Why not?: translation
Opening on 25 December 1922 at the 48th Street Theatre, the Pulitzer PRizE-nominated comedy by Jesse Lynch Williams ran for 122 performances. Williams had won the Pulitzer Prize in 1917 for Why Marry?, and this was a response of sorts. Amid plenty of cocktail shaking, two couples exchange spouses, and even the children are happy about the new arrangements.
